I'm not a Republican, I was only 5 years old when this happened, and I've voted Democrat since I was legal voting age in 1996, but I have to admit this moment here is absolute tough as nails bad ass for President Reagan. I feel President Carter is vastly underrated, but I don't think Jimmy Carter would have ever been this tough with the air traffic controllers, Carter would have likely tried to negotiate some settlement. Reagan drew a line in the sand and then carried out his threat.

if the US ATCs had better conditions 9/11 could be less devastating

@azbpro I don't think many did, az. I remember that many were pissed off. He did the right thing. They were putting people in danger by their abscence and denial of their oath that they swore that they would not strike. They swore to not strike...

A man of principles and one who upholds the Law. As a President is duty bound to do.

I wonder how many of those strikers returned within the 48 hours.

lol , " will be terminated " Where's Sarah Connor?

@mikesheen741 We need to change the laws in the country first to ban strikes. That would be good though i agree. Tube strikes should be the first ones targeted.
