Everything is available to all people as and when they need it, so the concept of ownership is redundant, and shopping is the wrong word really.

If there was a Venus city created independent from the rest of the world, once the existing system started to come crumbling down, how long do you think it would be before the city and its abundance were invaded by the corrupt powers that prevail?

Also, the Venus Project only works if ALL the resources of this planet are used for ALL people.

"The central dome will house education, health care, SHOPPING, child care...". Tell me how can I go shopping without any money! You got caught! Round cities with golf courses, giant cans where you can live on, robots that work for you... and shopping centers in the middle. Just more garbage painted as gold.

If VENUS like so much their damn town why they don't get all their money together and make one that is independent from the rest of the world and is self-sustained? with a shopping center!
