~3 WEEKS LATER~
Summer was starting and I felt that I was doing so many things already. My date with Joe was perfect and my birthday party was awesome. Everyone had fun even though it wasn't something big. The others day I spent with Miley or Joe. We always went out to eat or just to hang out. Some other days they would come to my house, but of course I always had my alone time with Joe. Right now, I was packing my stuff to go visit Joe's grandma with Joe and his family. They were planning a family trip and when Joe told me he was going, he decided to invite me. I told him that it was okay, that I would wait for him, but he insisted. I asked my parents and they were okay with the idea, so here I am packing my stuff for 1 week.
A few minutes later, I was ready and I was just waiting for Joe and his family to pick me up. Just then, I received a call from Joe, telling me to be ready. 10 minutes later, they were outside. I said goodbye to my parents and went out the door.
"Hello." I said as I was getting inside the car.
"Hey Demi." Everyone said in unison. I sat besides Joe and he gave me a kiss on the cheek. I smiled at him as Paul, Joe's dad, started driving.
"So, it's going to be kind of a long trip Dems." Denise, Joe's mom, said. "I hope you don't mind."
I shook my head. "Oh no, it's fine." I reply, getting a smile from her as a response.
"I have a couple of games in my iTouch, so we can play to kill some time." Joe says.
I smile "Okay." I reply. "and we can listen to music too." I suggest. He nods and takes out his iTouch along with his earphones. We played for a while and when we got bored, we decided to listen to some music. I rest my head in his shoulder and soon enough I was asleep.
2 hours later, I heard someone calling my name. I open my eyes, and see that the car is not moving. I turned to my side and see that we were in Grandma's house.
"We're here." I heard Joe said. I just nod at him, still sleepy. I grabbed my things and got out of the car walking towards the main entrance of the house. We're all greeted by Joe's Grandma. She was a very happy woman.
"And who's this?" She asked, talking about me.
"That's Demi." Kevin, one of Joe's brothers, said.
"She's Joe's girlfriend." Nick said. I just looked down, a little bit embarrassed. I look up later and I can see her smiling.
"Oh, so you're the famous Demi." She says. "I've heard a lot about you."
I giggle "I hope Joe talked good things about me with you."
She laughed a little "Trust me, they were really good things."
We all walked inside the house and soon enough we were greeted by a French Bulldog. I smiled at it and pet his head. Joe soon gets by my side and pets him as well. "And who's this?" He asked. "Last time I came he wasn't here."
"Oh, that's Winston." Joe's Grandma replied. "I bought it not too long ago. I needed some company in this big house."
"And what happened with Coco?" Joe asked.
She sighed "Cocoa died 4 months ago."
I didn't know who Cocoa was, but I was guessing it was another dog. Nobody noticed this, except me, but when Joe heard that, I could tell he was sad. "Oh." Was all he said.
After that, we were shown our rooms and we were told to come downstairs to eat something. I placed my stuff in my room and freshened up a bit. When I went downstairs, I was looking for Joe but he was nowhere to be found. Everyone was in the kitchen, so I walked there and asked for him. Joe's dad told me that he was in the backyard, so I thanked him and walked there to find him. And as Paul said, Joe was there sitting on a chair watching the lake since it was very close to the house.
I smile to myself and walked towards him, but my smile faded when I heard him sniff. "Hey." I said.
He looked up at me and cleaned his tears quickly. He stood up and acted like of nothing had happened. "Hey." He said. "Should we go inside."
I shook my head and stopped him from walking. "What's wrong?" I asked, and then more tears started falling from his eyes. I hugged him and waited for him to answer my question.
"I'm sorry." He said. "It's just... I miss Coco."
"It's okay." I said, pulling away lightly and stroking his back. More tears fell and he kept on apologizing for crying. I told him that it was okay and to let it all out. We stayed there for a while until he was feeling better. "You okay now?" I asked.
He nodded and kiss me softly on the lips. "I'm better now."
