Irish Trade Unions against Lisbon Treaty

Leading Irish trade unionist Mick O'Reilly urges a NO vote in upcoming referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. O'Reilly is a member of UNITE, Ireland's second largest trade union, which has an official position against the Lisbon Treaty. O'Reilly argues that the Treaty will reinforce the corporate-led drive towards the commercialisation and privatisation of public services across Europe.

Europe will cheer on Oct 2nd when we VOTAIL NIL the second time round. Then the English, the Checkoslovakians, the French, The Dutch et al will demand referenda on this treaty/constitution.

I can't believe some of the responses to the people of Ireland for voting Yes, they do not even understand why they are voting this.

Please before you vote Yes, go and look up the Lisbon treaty.

And ask yourself as to why you already voted No, and are being asked to vote again?

Do you understand what constitution , democracy means?

Think carefully about this and realise the importance of this vote.

75% of Europeans wanted to vote on any new treaty transferring more power to the EU (Open Europe figures),...they were denied the right by an un-elected commission of millionares and a "parliament" that is un-democratic and pretends to represent an imaginary "European citizen".
