@ele12957returns Was it not Jesus Christ own glory that made him blind and make him realize He was Lord and Savior? Was it not Christ that made him change his mind to believe? both repentence and believe/faith work simultaneously together to bring a sinner to salvation. a sinful being cannot come to salvation unless their is that change that makes them realize they are a sinner before God, This is what the bible teaches & i really have no time to deal with u as i kno the kind of person u r.

@ele12957returns As a sinful being one by their own strenght cannot believe because they are a slave to sin and their father is the devil, therfore it must take a change of mind, something working in their hearts to expose and covict them of their sin, the Holy Spirit does that as a sinner hears the Gospel which in turn their is a change of mind which will lead them to believe. Take the Apostle Paul when he was Saul what did it take for him to believe?

Why is it that no one has answered your post? Obviously, you brought up a good verse about the calling of the gospel.
Please, "Repent and believe the gospel" is the calling of the gospel. It's not telling to do the good work first to be saved. When you hear this calling, God will use it to regenerate your soul so that you will come to repentance, and believe. Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ"

Ray Comfort teaches the Roman Catholic interpretation of Matt 7. I'm sure he made the pope very proud.

I question the motive's behind attacking this man. Jesus Himself said "repent and believe in the gosple". I believe our Lord over man any day. People need to trust in what they read in God's word, and study for themselve's w/the Strongs Dictionary for clarity on meanings/usage in the original text. MK1 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

@ele12957returns yeah ur right not everyone that hears the Gospel will be saved only those who the Holy Spirit has convicted through the Gospel will be saved. the more a sinner hears the Word the more he begins to see sin as God does and the just punishment for it and also His goodness by sending a Savior, yes God's goodness does lead a sinner to repentence with a heart that is broken by sorrow of sin.
-
@ele12957returns "For the sorrow that is according to the wll of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation" The Holy Spirit works with the Word to lead a sinner to repentence which is a genuine fruit of believe and faith in the Son of God, there is a choice but those who are saved are drawn by the Spirit to believe and in believing u r letting go of sin bc u believe. Sin exposed by the Word& Spirit brings sorrow, sorrow leads to repentence and repentence leads to salvation.

@ele12957returns God draws a sinner through the Gospel when they hear the Gospel the Holy Spirit convicts them of their sin to have a broken and contrait heart and in that is repentence of itself which produces the fruit of salvation which in turn obediance but they must be convicted through the Word &the Holy Spirit working in their hearts before they believe &in believing they are repenting forsaking their sin, the Jews rejected it bc they had hardened their hearts to the truth ¬ obeying it

@ele12957returns I am not going to argue with you sir but this is what the Word of God teaches, "But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit," "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day."
Why you all cannot see that the problem is that we have not defined belief or faith. Faith is repenting, faith is believing, faith is confessing, faith is being baptized. I can not believe w/o Grace, I can not repent w/o Grace. I can not confess w/o Grace, I can not repent w/o Grace. It is ALL by grace and repenting is no more a works than belief. We are commanded to do both. If you say repenting is works, then say the same with belief. Believing is a change in something and so is repenting!!!
