Mine does the same thing but i just dust the disk off, is your lazer lense dirty? Thats what was wrong with mine

is your ps3 old or is it the new one because the old one has problem with new ps2 game and it always over heat

Its possilbe that your game is just glitched. I always keep the receipts from any games I buy, especially used. I doubt you'll like this idea but deleting the file and starting over is probably your only hope. Was that "Evading the cops" silver or gold? I couldn't tell.
