@katherine11982 It really does depend on the gerbil......I would say MOST are friendly and easy to handle, but there are a couple gerbils that don't like to be handled and will bite if you try to hold them(rarely happens though)
I've had 5 gerbils and they were all very friendly.....except 1 would always bite if you tried to hold it too long :/

I hope they don't live in that tiny tank! Thats aweful small!!! Thats like living in your bathroom every day and only being let out into your house for 10min!
