this happened because this was before the cars had double tube headers, oil would spray from the motor and catch on those red hot single tube headers. so all of these fires were nasty oil fires and back then they were common, now a days, theyre very rare

They are funny cars because of the big back wheel and the shape of the car. Nobody necessarily chuckles as it goes down track..
