I think its sad how a lot of people say that Atlanta was the worst olympics just because of this bomb. They couldn't control that.
I think Atlanta did a great job as host of the Olympics.

My sister worked at the Murphy Police Dept. when Rudolph was brought in, and she was the one who booked him.
Shes told me a lot of stories about some of the things he said to her while he was in his holding cell, and while she was booking him. Scary.

Very sad that the Olympics have to be soured by things like this. When I first heard about this back in 1996 I thought of the 1972 hostage that occured at the Olympics.

You can see marks from shrapnel on a statue close to where the bomb went off.

I remember I was 12 years old when this terrible thing happened. I was up north with my family in Michigan camping at Platte River. Seeing the news on Television was terrifying.

Man, I remember that night. We hauled ass out of there as soon as we heard the explosion. Went straight to Marta then to payphones to call our parents to let them know we were ok.

Yes. Eric Rudolph...
It was initially blamed on a security guard whose quick response saved lives: Richard Jewel. Jewel was on it so fast - investigators thought he planted the bomb. They were wrong - LC
