Josephine Banig Roberto represented the Philippines in the International Star Search Competition hosted by Ed McMahon where she emerged as the Junior Vocalist Grand Champion in Los Angeles, California in 1989. After winning International Star Search, Banig guested in several tv shows in the United States, Canada and in the Philippines. Here the some of the comments of the show hosts where she guested on.

@proudtobepinoy1 o nga, napaka-ganda ng timing ni Charice dahil sa technology, the people involved in her career right now. perfect timing, sana mahikayat ulit si Banig sa tulong ni charice pag sya'y nasa pinaka-tuktok na ng tagumpay. HIndi lang sya(banig) talaga nai-market ng husto noon...sya ang Charice noon. God Bless to both of them.

@71caruz I think Banig's time was not as fortunate as Charice today, where she has had enough exposure to boost her career. Although, as I've read about Banig lately, she's doing well and still performs occassionally.
