My name is Hyunwoo Sun and I'm Korean. This video is about two words that are sometimes very confusing but interesting :)

물 means water and 고기 means meat. What do you think 물고기 means?

반 means half and 팔 means arm. What do you think 반팔 means?

:)

You can learn more Korean at http://koreanclass101.com

and you can subscribe to my personal podcast at http://why-be-normal.com

Thank you for watching.

  • @tokee1234567

When being pronounced, the sound of some letters get altered a little bit.

    Like "Seupnida" often becomes "Seumnida".

I don't know why, it's just how I was taught. Be on the look out for both.

  • @peachysnapples a lot of korean consonants have a soft sound and one sound can easily sound like the other.

non koreans mix them up very often

ex. gamsahapnida -> ppl mix it up as -> hamnida..

    it's a ㅂ consonant (p) and ppl mix it up as ㅁ (m)

  • How come when you say 물고기 it sounds like "bulgogi" instead of "mulgogi" ?
