Sundays @ 7pm EST - LISTEN (to recordings) LIVE!
A behind-the-scenes look of the April 28th, 2007 season three, six hour marathon finale of my WECB show, "The Roadhouse" - the flagship radio show of Emerson College's WECB - the oldest commercial college radio station in America.
I took the camera out before an on-air break, and videotaped some behind the scenes footage of our antics in the WECB studio.
For the 34th episode, and season finale, The Roadhouse took a look back at some of our favorite moments of previous shows throughout the years. Following this Tom Petty song, we revisited one "Emerson's Finest Traffic Reports", a classic bit with our friend Ezra reporting from WECB's Liebercopter - high above Boston.

Do radio stations use special programs to play the music, or is it like WinAmp?

ynkno13 - Every station is different - but yes, all of the software is professional mixing stuff that is tied directly into the hardware of the board/CD trays etc.

You sound really good on radio. You definitely have a good DJ voice and rhythm.
Do you still do some radio?

OverSoft - Sadly... no - I no longer have access to any of the Emerson equipment, being an alumni and everything.
But I hope to get back into it as a profession, as I always really enjoyed it - and many people seemed to think I was really good at it.

With a good demo tape, i'm sure you can get a job at a local radio station.
Here in Holland, lots of radio stations have a lack of evening DJ's (which i find very strange, as most local DJ's do radio on the side of their jobs).
Maybe a fun thing to look into if you're looking to get back in to the radio business. (Make sure it's a station that also broadcasts via the internet, so i can listen to it over here ;))

OverSoft - Well, the local market is Boston... its quite competitive. I haven't time to really pursue it for full-time yet, as I still have a regular video job - but next year I will probably try switching careers.
