To the many Fundamentalists in this country who are for the death penalty, I would ask .. are you truly Pro Life .. or merely Pro Birth? Killing someone to show that it's wrong to kill someone .. is immoral.

The problem is, this society does not love eachother.
okay ?
For every 1 educational program that promotes marriage, I see 10 that Pseudo-explains to us why we should be treated like a fuckin monkey.
For every 1 educational program that teaches respect, I see 10 that makes a science out of our emotions, and therefore portrays us to be unimortant garbage
For every 1 educational program that teaches us the principals of equality and fair play, I seen 10 that stigmatizes disagreement.

I think that victims of serious crimes and their families are done an injustice by this attitute of a blanked statement of total opposition to capital punishment. I wouldn't call capital punishment an act of "hatred by the community," I disagree with her views on that. It is an act of justice and protection of our community at large and the protection of potential victims. The injustice comes when those who are later determined to have been innocent are executed.
"Are you for vengeance or compassion?"
That's the heart of it, right there. It's not just what capital punishment does to the executed; it's what it does to us, as well. Violent attitudes (vengeance) beget violent actions. We need to address the root causes of violence, within the human heart, rather than meeting violence with more violence.
