  • Many people would look down of these folks for being uneducated and backward. But they show many of the traits that make this country strong. They are resilient and take care of their families. They can count on each other when times are hard. They will pitch in to help each other out. I'm not sure if my fellow citizens here in California could pull together.

  • It's amazing the extent to which the comments in this forum are romanticizing the family and their living conditions. So far in this documentary we've seen or heard about child abuse, spousal abuse, alcoholism, jail, anti-depressants, govt assistance, ludicrous tent revival religion, bad teeth (very painful), and morbid obesity. These are not things we should aspire towards.

There are poor people in this country that are Good Folks. But these people do not qualify. People are posting that these are righteous people stuck in a bad situation. Are they just WATCHING the video. Perhaps you should turn your volume on. And Jesus Christ could someone PLEASE send them some toothpaste.
