Driving a car with manual transmission requires a good balance between engine power and the throttle, as the clutch is pressed to disengage the engine power during gear shifts, and it is gently released while the gas pedal is pressed. Drive a manual transmission vehicle with instructions from an ASE-certified technician in this free video on driving.

  • Omg I loved the videos.

  • Great advices, thank you very much

  • I live in estonia and we have to drive with a manual

  • Wow im famous!

  • @Dantasticwilliams I'm not from the U.K., but I still gave your comment a thumbs up, since I find it baffling to have to be a part of such automotive idiocy that takes place here.

  • @TonyqTiger Yes, at the right RPM you can shift without using a clutch, tricky on car's sync gearbox. Truckers use them a lot so they don't get tired depressing the clutch.

  • It's possible to shift gears without the clutch engaged if you know what to do

  • @suppmarkxb It's perfectly fine! I understand how your brother feels on this issue! If anything, I agree with your brother in some respects. I don't know about any of the other users, but I take no offence whatsoever. After all, it should be common knowledge to know how to drive a manual, which kills me to have in mind when there's a low number of driving schools here in North America that doesn't even teach manuals. I'm intending on advocating for manuals here after I finish high school.

  • @silac1993 I apologize , my brother has access to my account and comments on videos like this. I do apologize for any offence he may of caused. And I do not agree with what he has said, I like people from the US

  • @silac1993 Yes. Fourth gear is a slight overdrive that is pretty close to direct drive. Fifth gear is an overdrive you'd find in most compact cars. Sixth gear is a mega-overdrive that is used to get good fuel economy on the highway but isn't really useful for passing or climbing hills.
