Tokyo Swan 16: Asakusa

Went with the ladies to Asakusa. Great place for buying traditional Japanese items, as well as taking in the traditional buildings and shrines. Asakusa used to be more known for being a pleasure district, with geisha and prostitutes, but now the scene has shifted to a more culturally refined location in most parts.

Asakusa was the first area i explored in Tokyo and it would have to be my favorite area in Tokyo. I stayed at Hotel Yanagibashi (HIGHLY recommended, seriously. the family that runs it are so awesome) I only got back from Tokyo 3 days ago and want to go back already. I will live there one day! one day...

I loved going to Asakusa cos' at night there was sooo many food stalls, delicious stuff.

And the shops before the temple was really interesting with loads of gifts I could give to my friends.
