i was expecting quality from the big lead in and hype. The sound is zero human, lifeless.
flat, gross sounding samples and this is old software. I'd go with superior drums

you need to sample a tama birch bubinga kit if you want an authentic portnoy sound. this sounds nothing like portnoy. mike also uses much bigger cymbals like 19" crashes and 20" china's and this preset should include a stack cymbal and at a wider range of splashes and small cymbals. i do like steven slate drums though and use them on my demo's.

And remember one thing, instruments doesn't sound the same Solo'ed and in the mix.
Watch this video, it's the real drum track. Does it sound good to you?

This product is designed for replacing direct mics (Kick, Snare and Toms), using real OH and Room mics. In fact Chris Lord-Alge (Mixer: Paramore, Green Day and more records that you could imagine) has used Steven Slate samples in several albums
Using it this way is just for fun, not for professional purposes.
