@scrm1 The queen lays either male (drone) or female (worker) eggs. Generally speaking, drone eggs are not fertilized with sperm while worker eggs are fertilized with sperm. What this means is, drones only inherit DNA from their mother while workers inherit DNA from both their mother and the drone she mated with. So Drones have no father. Since they are made up of only DNA from their mother, and their mother came from a fertilized egg which means she contains DNA from her mate, the granddad
