observed your tail lengths, they didnt look to be 1500 x the diameter of your little rope, being a people carrier. try a 48klm insert of 60mm steel core over a fortnight on one of cable belts installations there are around the world.

what size was this rope looks like 48 mm
the biggest longsplice i have done was 64 m on a cable belt conveyor which was 9.5 km on return

I splice rope for arborist (tree climbers). This was AWESOME to watch
Can I ask why it was done? Was it an end-to-end splice, or was it to replace a damaged strand?
Very cool video. I think from now on I'm going to do all my splicing to that sound track!
