Man. This was banging out the box. I didn't really chop it up. I just played it all the way through and cut up two bars at a time on the keygate function. I tried just recording it straight but the beat didn't stay steady enough to work after six bars or so. The microsampler made quick work of this sample. I love this thing. Yup. This is the wersi album again. One dollah!

  • Yes. That particular song was all MicroSampler. These are all just short sketches that I video a few minutes after pulling the sample. I intend to gather the best of the best in the next year and begin the process of sequencing them properly as a real song. Yea...the sequencer sucks...needs an undo function, tracks, swing quantize etc etc etc...I use the Korg to pull samples. I will use the editor to get them to my MPC100 where they will get the real beat sequencing done to them...

  • Nice beat, did you make it using only the microsampler? Your tom watts beat is sick to, but why don't you make full 3 minute songs? I'm curious because I just bought one of these and I heard the sequencer is is tough to use.

  • @peterdods The sequencer does have UNDO...hold ENTER/SHIFT and press REC. You can use the MUTE feature to simulate multiple tracks...have several samples sequenced, just mute them strategically to make different melodies. Swing would be nice to have, but really if you just turn quantize off you can naturally play with a shuffle. It's definitely not designed for the more visual or technical sequencer, but I think it's got a niche in most home studios.

  • @3sleeves Whoa! Thanks for the help. I vaguely remember the undo from when I first got it, but I had completely forgotten. Yup. I do know about the mute. I would still prefer tracks, and ability to track mute. My timing is not the best so swing would still be nice for me. Sequencer: maybe I'm wrong here too, but no step editor, cutting and pasting bars to existing patterns isn't possible...I'll have to think of other things it does not do. Can you record the action on the mute?

  • @3sleeves If so. That is great, if not that is something I do a lot on my MPC (record the mute buttons on the tracks for a song - I like to overcrowd about 4 bars). I'd like it a lot better if it had an expandable hard drive, more sampling time, shoot...I know, it is affordable, and it is not an MPC. the keygate function makes it priceless to me though.

  • MicroSampler *Thumbs UP*

  • @peterdods Do you run the MS into any programs like FL9 or Cubase? Im getting a program I just dont know which one. Im used to the MC808 which is so differn't. But this MS is sick and easy to use. I'll put a beat up soon.

  • @peterdods I wish it could record the actions, especially FX sweeps and panning. It does let you record patterns with the AUDIO IN key so you can make custom volume gates for an outside sound source, like a turntable or synth. I like to use the AUDIO IN key instead of a crossfader, partly because it's easy and saves on space, but also because I'm all thumbs on the fader. If you use FLStudio, check out the MS as a controller for the FPC plugin.Your mute setup works great with Intua Beatmaker also.

  • @freshnesssupply Tough to use how?
