No... You are indeed very wrong. People do not "CAPTURE" dolphins and put them in "OVERSIZED FISH TANKS". People save dolphins who are standed and/or hurt and put them in realistic habitats if they cannot be released back into the wild.-DUH

Before you make accusations you might want to read up on your "entertainment parks." Most are run by conservation groups, like Sea World. Being a supporting member of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, I highly respect all conservation efforts. They are funded by these parks. And learn some grammar, please. What a horrible read.

That's not exactly true. There are plenty of cases were dolphins were capture. In the past, nearly all dolphins in aquariums were captured ones. Thankfully that practice has 'almost' completely stopped.

@1969lollieke Don't forget to add, because of the high stress and anxiety, these marine animals are then drugged up. SeaWorld is a greedy pimp! Plain and simple. Who wouldn't like to put the owners of SW in a bathtub, starve them and make them do tricks for food for 20-30 years and see how they'd feel.
-
@numeroUNOJoBrofan And they can't be release back into wild WHY? Because the marine parks are making too much money from them to let them go. Come on, we have POWs release back to society after 30 years. And these animals are highly, highly intelligent.
-
@1969lollieke SeaWorld had no intention on educating it's visitors or fans the true pilot of killer whales and mammals in captivity. They'd like to keep it all dark and hidden. Then they spin these ridiculous stories and lies about how great SW is, how happy the animals are, just to applease that deep down question in the back of our hearts - is this right? is this show ethical? are these intelligent, highly social animals really happy being locked up in concert pools?
-
These animals are dying at least one every month at SW of loneliness and boredom and sickness from the tanks. Some suspect the whales are even to the point of commiting suicide.

Giving money to SSCS doesn't make what SeaWorld is doing right. That's like saying someone kidnaps a child and give money to Center for Missing/Exploited kids. One doesn't make the other right.
SeaWorld is the pimp and the animals are the drugged up victims. The conservation stuff is the pretty decor on the wall. Every visitor is a "john" that keeps the animals trapped there. If SW world didn't make money off these whales, they'd have their freedom long ago.

@lilferret79 SeaWorld is purely and entertainment park, NOT a conservation gig. Don't be hoodwinked by the PR stuff. That's just something they do on the side for PR and make visitors feel good so you don't question how these animals got there and if they are truly happy. There's no intentionn to really education anyone, their main website screams BUY! BUY! BUY!

SeaWorld gets Japan to capture it for them and calls the "Loans".
Ric O'Barry used to train the dolphins used to play Flipper and the reason the series stopped was because the dolphins became too dangerous to be in the water with. DOLPHINS ARE NOT TOYS. They are not all smiling, gentle, angelic beings. They are WILD animals that need to be RESPECTED.

I read his book, "Behind the Dolphin Smile" and that is not a accurate statement. The dolphins who played Flipper were all females, who are less aggressive than male bottle nosed dolphins, and only one of the seven was so aggressive that a human actor refused to swim with her.
Dolphins have varied personalities and moods, some are violent, some are only dangerous when their warnings are ignored, some are gentle, some are tame.
