This video is a tutorial on how to convert sealed PDF files to regular PDF. This is common for ebooks and is very annoying. This way you can bring your pdf anywhere without having to have internet access and the ebook will never expire. Hope this helps

1. Download a PDF printer such as bullzip pdf
http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php

2. Download SplViewer
Go to this link and scroll down to SplViewer
http://www.lvbprint.de/html/download.html

3. Open the .SPDF file that you want to convert

4. Print it to a printer that is installed on your computer but is unplugged from the USB. (do not print to bullzip yet it wont work) For example i used an Epson printer but had it unplugged from my usb so the computer couldn't connect with it.

5. Now you can see the document is pending in your Printing Queue down in the taskbar. Leave it there and don't cancel it. If you get an error this is normal.

6. Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS on your computer. In that folder you should find the .SPL file.

7. Open the SplViewer and drag the .SPL file from the PRINTERS folder into it.

8. Now in SplViewer print the file to PDF using bullzip PDF printer as your default printer. Bullzip will then open up and ask you where to save your new .PDF

That's it hope this saved a lot of headaches!

  • @hookedandaddicted I have windows 7 and was using it in this tutorial. Try running it in Windows XP mode as administrator if you are having problems

  • I figured out the solution to my problem. I uninstalled Adobe Reader X and replaced it with Adobe Reader 9.4. Running Windows 7 and your trick worked for me now :) Thanks!

  • Thank you so much, I am really annoyed at all the protection publishers are using for their textbooks!

  • I created a printer on Windows 7, the HP Color LaserJet CP4005 PCL6. When I try to print, I get the "This print device appears to allow the creation of a digital copy of the file..."

When I try to print anyways, it doesn't spool. I get a popup saying "This document could not be printed" and then "there were no pages selected to print". Help, please?

  • Hell yeah boiiiii. It worked fosho. :D

  • Thanks loffyg. U saved me a bundel!

  • Switched to another print driver and it worked. If you get RAW data, the print driver is not working. BIG TIME THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO.
