Simon Jenkins introduces A Short HIstory of England

Acclaimed journalist and chairman of the National Trust, Simon Jenkins is a staunch defender of what he calls "old fashioned history" - a chronological view of England's past based on dates, wars, rulers - history as cause and effect. He demonstrates why England has a history of its own, distinct from that of Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
