Hello there... I remember seeing Mad Jack's Travelling Circus in Eccles (or was it at the Bridgewater Pub in Worsley??) back in the late 70's or early 80's. I still have a demo cassette... They were brilliant! Was there ever anything on CD??
he was and still is one of the best front men in this biz.. there,s a lot to be learned from watching this guy perform... he taught me a one or 2 tricks... he,s from the old skool of rock and roll where you have to be talented to be there in the 1st place..
good on yer "MAD"....some of em these days av never bin on a big job b4..xx. vinny.
Hi Vinny, We followed the band round locally (St Helens) Birchley St Marys, Penlake, Peasley cross Labour club (now Tescos would you believe!) Sue and I use to sit with the band and go back stage a lot mind you so did a lot of people!! I remember getting 3 tapes altogether 1 was from the days when there was 2 keyboard players (I think) and no guitarist.I'm sure there still around somewhere!!!in fact i took some photos and i'm sure there in the attic.
Thanks for the reply. I loved the stuff They did of there own and it's a pity they didn't make it as they were talented enough.'You are my friend' was one of them.I had 3 tapes by them! Still brings back many memories for us!!!!!!!!!!
Saw them once at Birchley St Mary's (Billinge) New Year, Jack got us free tickets! But we ended up walking 8 miles home after the gig....lol we were a lot younger then!
Sorry Jack but I have fond memories of Mad Jacks Travelling circus. Not a Rod Stewart fan. Me and the wife use to follow your band round like a few people did (St Helens based)
