@MolestingTheWeak Putrid Pile, Deeds Of Flesh, Cephalotripsy, Syphilic, Defeated Sanity and Infected Disarray are by far better than Devourment.

@Alphantis Devourment is not an average band. Every single devourment album sounds different, which can not be said about Suffocation(which i love, they are my fav death metal band). Decapitated are one of the bands that sound like every tech death metal band coming out today, overproduced, and being technical for the sake of being techincal. Decrepit Birth(Derek's ,from suffocation, old band), but they also have their fall backs. Devourment is great, and you should respect them.

@albalest55 There is a difference between slam death metal-style breakdowns and deathcore-style breakdowns. If you have an undeveloped ear for music you obviously can't hear the difference. And, there are SOME bands that can sound similar, like waking the cadaver, but not the genres in general.

both use breakdowns and the overal music is similar at alot of points

@MolestingTheWeak Origin, Suffocation, Decrepit Birth, Deeds of Flesh, Decapitated. i could keep going. Devourment is an average as band. most death metal is way more interesting and skillfull

@DaLeftLibertarian No classic is still the most popular, then Melodic, then Tech, and then Brutal and finally Slam. Classic is my favorite, because its so yummy

@panzerpox Yeah your right brutal death is not the same as slam, but if your a slam band you are playing brutal death somewhere on your records.
Brutal death bands sometimes dont do the slam riffs and are more towards DM/thrash/black
