The reason why native americans were scalping those who were about to die because they believed that human spirit leave the body through the head ..and they had to release that spirit! Invaders of their land did not know this believe and interpreted this as cruelty..but that was wrong!

Well by this time the native americans have been trading for awhile so they would have metal knives. You'll be surprised how easy these warriors were at taking your scalp. Especalliy if they've been doing it for a while. A good strong tug to cut of the nerve and hair folicles. Then with one swift and strong motion you can take a persons scalp. It was nothing to them back then.

@masterhalco funny how white people when they first arrived called them noble and actually tried to emulate how they lived.No one is saying that NA's were perfect but they lived much more wholesome fufilling loves then we do now.Modern society is nothing but greed.The reason they had a better society is because they were matriarchal,matriarchal > patriarchal.That is why they were less violent,gentler,more devoted to each other.
