just picked this Z up last night for $1,500 -- It's my first Z Car I plan on pretty much focusing the modifications on suspension and leaving the motor stock while I build up a spare L28ET. The car body needs some love has very bad orange peel paintjob and needs to be sanded and resprayed but overall it's not too bad for a 30 year old car & the only major rust spot I've been able to locate is under the driver side in the frame rail it;s about 2 and a half inches of very bad corrosion. The rocker area, roof area and hatch are pretty much rust free.

  • The price was nice. I think it's at least a '79, though. The hood missing the access panels and the shifter boot and steering wheel say '79 at the earliest. How's it coming along?

  • @pgrens No it's a '78 the access panels are there and the shift boot/steering wheel were changed by the previous owner. The 1979 Z was a S130 body style. The car is coming along great though, just sent it off to the paint shop for a fresh coat of black. Here's how she looks now -- youtube.com/watch?v=iPRvcWS6V2s

Ah, my bad. And WHOA! The car looks stunning. Very nice work. I'd be proud to have that in my stable. Good call on sacking that '79 steering wheel, too.

    Cheers,

    - Paul

  • @pgrens Thanks! :)

  • @de0ndre

Just pulled the trigger on a black on black '78! My first Z car as well. I'll be sure to post some footage when I get it back here.

  • @pgrens that's sweet, how much did it set you back? & definitely post up the link when you get it. ;)

  • @de0ndre It set me back twice what you paid for yours. And I have to fly out to Cali to drive it back to Chicago, which should actually be a pretty cool trip.

  • @de0ndre yeah i saw them. pretty nice. I've been trying to find fender flares for mine. Maybe when I move down there I'll probably scoop one up

  • @MBJosh31 Thanks, it's come a long way since this video check it out in my uploads & I'm in the LA area.

  • Nice pick up. I got my '76 for $1,500 too but the front got smacked a little so it's kind of funky looking up close. Where are you from?
