tsunku also looks for the overall charm of the girls. many ppl originally also thought "why was aika chosen?" but then when they went to AX and got a chance to meet her, they said that she was a really, really sweet girl and they accepted why she was chosen.
and aika's getting a lot better now...just look at eri. she used to be sooo bad at singing, but now she's pretty good :)
but at least tsunku had enough sense to keep kikka XD

kikkawa defo sings a hell lot better than aika !!!!!! i suppose tusnku went for the looks ..... just like when he chose sayumi and konno... we all know their weakness of singing.. but they got chosen somehow.... no offence but i love all of the girls ....

I can't believe that Aika Mitsui was chosen over Kikkawa when I watch this. Kikkawa is great, she has a much better voice than Aika and she can also dance.
