If there was no riba in the first place then there would be no inflation

What is the ruling on receiving/giving interest in an inflation based economy? If I lend someone £100 and a year later I get £100 back but because inflation was 5%, that £100 is now worth less so I'm losing out. Is it okay to take interest in this situation seeing as I'm not exploiting someone but merely not losing out?

@SplitmoonProductions so is mortgage haram, i was born into this house my mother bought, she has been paying this thing called mortgage. i do think that mortgage involves riba. or does it.? if it does then does that make me a sinner.

@Rexanglorum U.S gov in the name of liberty, we shud war against terrorism...they launch war in middle east country...why? simple becos profitablity... resources, n other things... u knw the most evil country in the world is NOrth Korea, where slave camp still exist. n i din see U.S government war against them, n liberate them...simple reason, there is nothing in North Korea for U.S, n the risk is simply too high cost both nation own nuclear weapon.
