One of the things I love about the Aerodynic is the ability to change the flash patterns by changing the angle of the rotators. This is the "hesitation" or "center burst" pattern Federal often used with clear inner dome sections. The AeroDynic was first Introduced in 1977 and the rotator settings for this pattern are: [14,12,10,8,0][0,8,10,12,14]

  • The Best Federal Signal ever came out with But, Now unless you have a Monster truck everyone thinks they look stupid on your car, only bad thing about these light bars is the Rubber Belt they use to run the Rotators, it's almost as much as the bar to get a new one and can take up to 3 months to get one, I know I had an 8 head one of these and the belt broke and I waited MONTHS to get it, but you can't beat it, only two rotators makeing all that light.

  • Actually, there are no belts in this one. Just 10 rotators and gears between each one.

  • Ok then how do you change the Pattern?

  • It's pretty simple. Each rotator gear has numbers around it -- like on a clock -- and a tiny white line on the frame on the bar. First, you remove the gears between the rotators so that the individual rotators spin freely. Then, you arrange the rotators so the different numbers are "pointing" at each line on the frame. When you pop the gears back down between the rotators, you have a new pattern. Experiment until you get the pattern you like. That's what I did.

  • Do you have OR are you going to post any of the old Twin-Sonic lightbars? As a sidenote, your submissions are very nice - well done!

  • I will post more this summer.

  • Looks like the gumballs Rosco P Coltrain had on his police car in Dukes of Hazzard one of my favorite TV shows

  • such a shame they don't sell these anymore

I'd get one with a magnetic mount that plugs into your cigarette lighter socket for my car - instant undercover cop car!

  • Hi

Want to purchase! HOW MUCH HAVE STRICT?

    Thanks

  • looks like a disco show effect bar...what so many lights for?

  • i think i like the Federal Signal Streethawk better.

  • Where can you buy one of these?

  • 2 questions:

Are that really 10 lights or are there any mirrors?

Are the lights at the ends bigger than in the middle?

  • Are you sure this light bar came out in 1977? I was thinking more like early 1980's. I remember when our patrol cars first got them, and that was around 1984 or so and they were the new gizmo that everyone was getting.
