  • @TheTonyfromconey Hahaha, that was a funny joke. Now tell me another one, you know with soap and shrunken heads. :D

  • JEW

  • @RasMajnouni Wagner's music was played in many concentration camps notably Bergen Belson as Jews were led to gas chambers.

  • @celebconsult I think Woody Allen may just be over your head. This is meant to be funny; he is is taking off a kind of paranoia which isnt really linked one way or the other to reality. His great line "Just because you're paranoid doesnt mean someone isnt trying to kill you" pretty well sums it up.

SO what about Annie Hall's immortal line "You're what my grammy Hall calls 'a real jew'". Is this anti-semitism? And Woody's immortal reply is "thank you". Priceless. Watch the movie again.

  • Woody's great service to the Jewish community is his excessive paranoia about anti-Semitism which, at the other extreme, so many American Jews "claim" they never saw or experienced. The "anti-Semitism deniers" are, in their own way, as harmful to Jews worldwide as I find Allen to be in some of the anti-Israel (ergo, "pro-Palestinian) Liberal comments attributed to him and other Leftist Liberal US Jews. Inexplicable conundrum -- Allen is more accurate in his films than in his life.

  • @RasMajnouni Yeah, I know, I think you mean to address "mimimirwitch" it was his response to me quoting Woody (because I think it's a really funny line, especially the way he delivers it) He said "eek, I'm missing the 'Wagner' bit....I just quoted the line because the way Woody's character uses it to demonstrate the fellows antisemitism. However - is there an American Nazi party?!

  • @VanceJoudrey Right after WW2 here in Israel Wagner was not played but time passed & long ago his music is done in large auditoriums."Alvi's" friend here is also Jewish but refuses to take it seriously. Its a fact that the non-religious Jews and assimilists are peeved by the slight taint of Anti-Semitism.A traditional or religious Jew doesn't have that hangup until the American Nazi Party gets 6% of the vote!
