Greg Graffin was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Harvard Humanist Chaplaincy on April 26, 2008.

During the Q&A period, I had the opportunity to ask him a question.

**note - He actually went on to recommend Frank Zappa and Todd Rundgren, among others

  • Bad Religion is literally the only band I listen to. Every other band's songs by comparison seem so meaningless and vacuous. This has been my favorite band since I'm 13 years old.

  • I feel exactly the same way. Unfortunately, I didn't discover Bad Religion until I was 23.

  • @UntamedAxeRage Don't feel bad, I didn't discover BR till I was 43! This band is one of the best things I've ever discovered in music.

  • As far as melodic punk goes they're the cream of the crop, but there is an artist from a completely different genre affected my thought process/life in similar ways to that of Bad Religion's. If you're interested in science/philosophy and don't have an aversion to hip hop I would suggest checking Eyedea out. The guy had lyrical concepts that are, in many ways, as freethinking and breathtaking as Greg's.

  • @Heime101 Yeah, it was good, but you can't say it's their best. It's impossible to judge that kinda thing anyway.

  • @xssRavenssx U talking about bad religions first five years cause that shit kicks ass and to be written when he was 15 is fucking good. Drastic actions is crazy good !!

  • When i was 16 some hardcore punk dude came on the school bus spouting a song about superman from bad religion he was a freak to me mohawk and spikes not my thing, but i got the song and liked it assuming punk was never my thing when i was around 24 i was board and downloaded a bunch more bad religion and since then they have become my favourite band of all time i don't know why it took so long, i was to judgmental on the punk thing but fuck they are sooooooo good every fucking album !!

  • I'm thirty years old and I've been listening to Bad Religion since I was 12. I can't imagine my life without their music...

  • @UntamedAxeRage Bad Religion. In MY opinion, the only REAL punk band. The only one that really knows what they talk about. Simply because they're wise, and wisdom is important when you talk about things that affect people.

  • @badsign1980 Their first 5 years weren't their best. You obviously didn't get their message about not classifying.

  • Kinda narrow minded don't ya think? Talk about closing your mind.

  • I was 14. I'm turning 40 on August 5th 2011. They are STILL my fav band.
