One of the greatest opera divas of our time, Italian mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli singing Sesto's aria Parto, Parto, Ma Tu Ben Mio from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last opera La clemenza Di Tito (KV 621) composed in 1791. A German Arte TV telecast of the concert given at the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern in 2006 with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra conduced by Claudio Abbado. Known for her amazing voice spanning more than 3 octaves and her captivating stage presence, Bartoli's unique way of performing and her immense charisma has brought her many fans and also much criticism. Still, one cannot deny the fact that she has managed to make best selling records out of her CD-s of almost forgotten arias by Vivaldi and Salieri. She started her career as a Rossini specialist and with her most recent effort, an album dedicated to the 19th century diva Maria Malibran, has returned to her bel canto roots. Still, she is loved by most for her interpretations of baroque and classical composers of the 18th century. For one, I pesonally ADORE her! :)

  • This is GREAT!

She understands the style from singing Mozart as its used to be done.

Listen to her Fiordiligi and Donna Anna, with Harnoncourt...brava!

  • at 2:18 you can feel the pain and torment....tearing herself... with guilt and love.... just amazing cecilia...almost cried...
