Pesticides: Advertisements by chemical and "lawn care" companies assure us that their products will bring us "back to nature," when in fact, they destroy nature. Many communities across the country have banned the use of lawn pesticides, based on research that strongly suggests that they are hazardous to humans, animals and the eco-system. In most neighborhoods, a day rarely goes by that several people aren't spraying chemicals on their lawns or bushes, allowing "chemical drift" to poison adjoining properties.

Over the past few decades, lawn care companies have subtly implied that a weedless lawn is a sign of status. But, little or no attention is paid to the vast amount of damage to the ground water and the eco-system in general. They have also forced people to become dependent upon their products, because natural predators of insect life have either been killed or driven away for lack of food.

On a futher note, chemical companies are required by law to list only their active ingredients and not inert ingredients which some consider as dangerous as those listed.
Stop the unnecessary use of pesticides!

  • AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE

  • @LoveVanillaRose Yes indeed :-)

  • The yellow blossoms are also very beautiful. And that's real nature ... so killing nature to get back to nature is making no real sense.

  • @BattlefieldDoktor I couldn't agree more, BFD! Thanks for watching.

  • Pictures speak a thousand words, powerful message Marc and beautifully told. I for one have never used pesticides, our lawn is a mess BUT it's a small sacrifice.

  • @DelisaProductions If I had my way, I wouldn't even have a "lawn", I'd have a meadow. Unfortunately, my neighbors aren't the meadow type :-(
