Another set of boffer-latex LARP weapons I've made.

A 1h axe and hammer. They are both weighted at the handles for near perfect balance, although they don't do much for reach. They are covered in tight cloth, which is painted with latex. pure latex becomes transparent when dry, so paints dissolved into the latex show through perfectly, even metallic paints. the texture is easily made via a sponge.

A fun challenge I had was figuring out how to 'sheathe' these weapons. I developed a simple hook-system that so far has only failed... when I was recording video for this. They have never failed in action. Also works wonders for hanging my camera on when I run around - and my horn!

Good times.

  • Dude, this is crap.

You handle the weapons like they were wooden sticks.

Learn how to fight, do a new costume and come back again...its better for everyone.

  • @Rishukable Hey sweetie - try uploading something better yourself, then we can chat. In mean time you obviously fail at understanding how LARP combat works. Protip: they aren't sharp, and you are supposed to fight with them as if they're wooden sticks. its playfighting, no the real deal. Learn to internets before I get all Godwin on your ass.

  • i fear ppl like you on the larp battle field! got any tips on how to avoid, fight, and or defeat?

  • @SpartanOfAmerica1234 - well, it all depends on where you play, what the rules there are, and what you play. If you dont want to fight, dont play a combat role. play the barkeep, or merchant, or musician. On how to fight? again, depends on the rules where you play. Typically a spear or something similarly long is a good beginner option, simply because you can keep people away from you. Alternatly, do not wear heavy armor or anything: Mobility is key. Outrun and circle around enemies. be sneaky

  • dammit man! just get a huge 2 handed hammer and lay into the enemy like a warrior priest!

  • @wigster600 I've got one of those. but it still doesn't have enough range. I prefer polearms honestly :3

  • @Andy152R ???

  • Bahahahaha!!!!

  • @rsviderpkk1ng Good observation - the reason I 'stop' the strikes is that the rules where I LARP state that you have to pull your blows: If I followed through with the strikes I'd be kicked out, pure and simple.
