Hi there. I saw a gold dollar from 1853 just 2 days ago. It was used to buy Doctor services back in the old days... late 1800's. They are very small.....1/3 the size of a modern dime. A friend bought a house that had most of the Doc's original belongings, all 1930's and before. They find cool stuff all the time ...old apothecary stuff. The coin has a bite mark in it where someone tested to see if it was real gold. Too cool!! Thanks for sharing a peek at your gold coins.

When and where did you find your 1907 $10 gold coin? Which detector and how deep was it? Thanks again for sharing!

@LEARNTOPLAYCRAPS I found it locally near our waterfront. It has been a hub of activity since the 1600's, and is to this day. It was found several years ago now, and was about 8 inches deep, in soft soil, that is littered with small pieces of lead and other debris. I was searching in all metal mode and recovering all targets...I was using my Garrett GTi 2500...Good Luck!

No, the 1781 Spanish Escudo and the 1907 Ten Dollar were both found...Why do you think differently?
