The F-15 Eagle first flew in July 1972, and entered service with the USAF in 1976. The F-15 is expected to be in service with the U.S. Air Force until 2025.
Since the 1970s, the Eagle has also been exported to Israel, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Saudi Arabia. Despite originally being envisaged as a pure air superiority aircraft, the design proved flexible enough that an all-weather strike derivative, the F-15E Strike Eagle, was later developed, and entered service in 1989.
The F-15 in all air forces have an air-to-air combined record of 104 kills to 0 losses in air combat as of February 2008. To date, no air superiority versions of the F-15 (A/B/C/D models) have ever been shot down by enemy forces. Over half of F-15 kills were achieved by Israeli Air Force pilots.

  • With respect to the numbers lads, its NEVER flown against a decent enemy..

  • @DeMoNMiNdLS: The Su-27 is superior in Dogfights, thanks to high maneuverablility. The F-15's got even beaten by F-16's. But in terms of BVR-Fighting, the Su-27 is clearly inferior to F-15. The plane with the best pilot would win, and that would be the F-15 from USAF.

  • @SuperGeronimo999 I know... But im sure if we met, it would be an easy target ;).

  • @2shahar: And now? It's still inferior.

  • @SuperGeronimo999

bitch, F-15A/B(and etc) costs around 20million US dollars, the Israeli verison costs around 55~60 million US dollars (just like the israeli f-16 which costs 75million dollars) s

  • @DeMoNMiNdLS: The Su-27 wasn't downed by USAF.
