I think Lila should have stayed in the series. Of course she's a sociopath, but she's the only one that 'understands' Dexter, and takes him for what he is (being his soul-mate). Everyone who dislikes/hates her, seems to forget this... There's a big difference between being with your soul-mate, and being loved by a perfectly sweet woman who's completely out of touch with what you fundamentally are...

@Wanderer123 I don't think she understands Dexter... she's obsessed with him, and she's fascinated by (his) darkness, but that's not the same as understanding him. She doesn't understand his lighter parts, like the way he truly cares about Rita and her kids or the way he longs for a normal life, and if she really, really loved him, she'd want him to be happy - which for him means staying in touch with his human side, with the good inside of him.
