Tipperary and Kilkenny are sitting pretty in the All Ireland Senior Hurling Semi Finals as the rest of the chasing pack try and claim the last 2 semi final spots in this years championship.
Some lobsided results and disappointing attendances this season have renewed the debate about whether there should be another reformatting of the competition.
The big crux is how to reorganise Ireland's unique and ancient pastime while at the same time preserving the sanctity of one of the country's most revered sporting fixtures the Munster Senior Hurling Final.
That's not a debate worrying the current Tipperary panel as they continue their unbeaten run this season which has also seen them take National Hurling League honours, however it is something a former GAA President feels strongly about.
Nicky Brennan's predecessor as Uachtaran, Sean Kelly was amongst those taking in the atmosphere at this season's provincial final at Limerick's Gaelic Grounds.
