The Picasso, the Bean and now the Blonde Bombshell. A 26-foot-tall sculpture of Marilyn Monroe in her most famous pose was unveiled on Chicago's now-truly Magnificent Mile Friday morning. (July 15)

Why are reviews in the papers negative? OH, LIKE THE PICASSO MONKEY MONSTROSITY IS BETTER?!?!? Come on, people. This is BY FAR my favorite work of art in the entire city! I guarantee many more people come to see this than any other artwork right now. I went to Chicago just to see this and know many others that did too. We don't care about your "art critic" cliques and what your politics says. It is amazing they made metal so lifelike, so wispy, so soft, so BEAUTIFUL! It is a modern Athena.

It's a nice statue... but why do we accept art like this in public where our kids can see? What is America coming to? Yeah there's worst stuff on television... we need to get rid of it all. Nice statue but so unnecessary.

ok the statue may be "kitschy" but it's not marilyn's fault, so stop bashing her and bash the artist... she's not alive and had no say in this

It would make sense that they would put here since chicago is called the windy city hence her skit flying. I love it I think its a great addition to our wonderful city! :D LOVE U MARILYN! :D

I like the statue. I think its one more meaningful and whimsical memento that honors her and helps keep her memory alive. Not to mention that it truly does make Magnificent Mile even more magnificent. Thumbs up if you like the statue.

Lol, there's always a few perves looking straight at the crotch and butt, lol, people can be so stupid sometimes, beautiful statue though, don't know why the back of the dress had to be hiked so high showing everything, lol but still a beautiful statue, marilyn would be proud

The statue honors her work and it shows how much she had to do to go through to get to fame even tho it killed her, its dishonoring how people stand under her and point up, I saw the statue today at chicago and the people where so disrespectful
