Well, now that was truly informative, and pretty good stuff! Some of the candidates are playing an interesting game of Russian roulette - they are slowly self distructing either themselves, or one of their competitors. Will be interesting!

Politico/Trekie...
Funny.

LOL! That's for sure, as she'd also have an effect on the young male demographic too...

Although, I feel compelled to add: During the bit about Oprah's campaigning on Nightline last night, the reporter repreated an excellent quote about celebrity endorsements:
"The thing Oprah, and other celebrities, can do for a candidate, is 'open the door' for voters (or, draw their attention). From there, it is entirely up to Obama to convince them to 'walk through the door' with him."

You make a brilliant point about the Oprah effect on polls, James...social desirability screws polls up ALL the time, and yet people never hear about it. I thought it was pretty well drilled into my head after all of those classes about research in social science, but even I forgot about it! Per usual, your combination of humor and real analysis is top notch.
Also, which episode were you talking about? I thought of several! ;-)

People like Bill, that's why. I certainly like him more than I like Oprah.
Huckabee can attack back with this commercial:
"Mitt Romney's real name is... Willard."
The End.

I wonder if 7 of 9 would support Ron Paul?
If she showed up at some campaign event, I bet the polls would show more than 1%!
That critical bloc of "Trekkie" voters would get all sorts of press time, surely...
