BioDiesel at 220f and blowing in air from a shop vac. There are 4 - 12" pipes with 6 - 1/4" holes drilled in each.

  • Just another note. The theory behind clean biodiesel is that if you get the methanol out, then the rest will settle out. We have proven this many times over with several home brewers with great results. We even test each others batches.

  • Boy you got it!! I found that this method leaves globs of goop in the wash tank and has to be removed usually with water. We have tested this method many times with the 3/27 test and the water test and really like the results. Too bad ASTM testing it too expensive. Another option is to use shop air as you can regulate that much better. Remember to ventilate well as you will have residual methanol fumes.

  • you may want some better ventilation as you could have methanol vapours floating around
