  • What kind of car do you race? If you live near Great Lakes Dragway let me know when you will be racing your car there (or Byron if you prefer) and you can show me your expertise in doig a burnout -OR- maybe I can show show you what I have shown a lot of Chebbys ... my taillights.

  • Suspension is stock except lighter springs and 90/10 adjustable shocks in the front and +1" springs, Cal-Trac bars and QA1 adjustable shocks in the rear. Rear tires are 15x10" Goodyear Eagle slicks

  • i just bought a 1966 galaxie 500 with a 352, the previous owner added a 4 barrel holley everything else is orginal including paint, any comments?

  • Nice cars. You can either restore it, turn it into a race car like I did, or just drive it and have fun. Whatever you decide good luck.

  • good thing they had a good announcer...man i miss home

  • From your "man I miss home" commentI assume you might be in the military? If so my thanks and best wishes. The AFTERSHOCK Galaxie really started as my dream in 1969 when I was in Viet Nam. It took me 35 years to actually make it happen. Good news is when I drive her or work on her I'm 19 years old again.

  • haha as soon as she says she hasnt seen that many galaxies in her life that beast took off like a rocket, you dont see that very often in stock cars today. but with technology we employ smaller and lighter engines and still get that horsepower. fuel injection forced induction newer alloys etc. i guess i just dont truly appreciate cars of today... they all look the same. streamline is cool and all but an SS nova is streamline and still looks meaner than any car made now

  • My Volvo 240 550 hp will smoke that fords ass

  • Woulda been 11 flat if you knew how to do a burnout...

  • Guy in the mustang was picken a booger or sleepen. That was one fast galaxie!

  • Chicks voice is hot love her.......go FORD!!!!

  • I can tell I'm conversing with the "real deal", ragin'roadrunner. That's really interesting what you said about the drawbacks of the 406. I guess I fell in love with that motor when I was an early teen. Some guy drove a yellow 2dr. Galaxie fastback next to me in the gas pump bays and shut her down. He lifted the hood, and there all chromed out was that gorgeous 3-deuce shiny engine. He shut the hood, kissed his palm, then put his palm on top of the closed hood and winked at me. I was HOOKED!

  • @jamesmrmechanic ...back in the sixties Ford would not let just anybody have access to their exotic engines. You had to be somebody or know someone at Ford. They are that way to this day. They want only the best qualified people to have their cars for performance. Jack Rousch has helped change that and Ford has remained on top. Ford's ability to develop massive horsepower is awesome if not restricted by management.

  • @naderchaser...We ran the 390 Intercepter , the 406 and 4 427's in the 60's...the 427 was by far a monster that came in several configurations.. ..it had better head selection...what hurt the 406 was the cylinder heads, and NHRA rules limited it to just one camshaft. It did very well, however with todays cams and aluminum heads the 427's would be the ultimate engine. The 406 was not a crossbolted block which limited its horsepower. The monster was the 427 "Tunnel Port".

  • @JPmixet For some reason, I've always had this weird fixation on those 406 tri-power motors they had in those Galaxies back in what, 62-64? It seems as if they never got much magazine coverage back in the day, and no one builds them today much either. Were they dogs....or just not too plentiful, given the short build run?
