Hi. I must have watched this vidio 15 times and each time I do it tears me up. Clara is so sweet and instructs us in her strong and easy manner. When I teach I always sugest that my students watch this vidio. She says" just go easy". That pretty much says it all. We miss you Clara

I'd love to purchase the full documentary, but I found your website--through Google believe it or not--and there's no link there. Where can I get it and make sure you get the money?

Beautiful. I've always wanted to learn spinning and weaving. This has just increased my desire. Thank you.

@sheepman1942 -I am interested in some "old-type" Navajo-Churro sheep. Since they do well in the extemes of NM, do you think they would do well in Florida? Do you still have access to the old type?
Thank you
JD

I remember as a child I watched my grandmother do this as I sat on the dirt floor of the hogan. It has always brought me peace to watch and still does through the eyes of Youtube. My culture being preserved through youtube.....Beautiful!!

Incredible video, very informative, helped me to improve my technique. Sometimes I watch it just to feel good. Clara Sherman is one of our true national treasures, and through a video like this one, will always be with us.

Excellent video. I have always wondered how the Churro was carded. The staple she is working with is much shorter. Is she only spinning the undercoat of the Churro, or is the staple being cut in smaller lengths?
I have always loved weaving my Navajo rugs. It relaxes me and it makes me focus on Beautiful Things. the beauty in life and the Creation of beauty from my hands and the discipline and Pride I have to carry on this Handmade Art.
Many people dont have patience anymore. I will Honor this Art and keep my traditional Art alive. Everything Begins and Ends in Beauty.
May you all Walk in Beauty Everyday!!

I have known Clara for over 30 years, delivered her a number of times the original 'old-type' Navajo-Churro sheep to her flock near her homesite in the Two Grey Hills, NM area. Unfortunately, this classic shepherdess, artisan weaver I learned over the weekend from Roy Kady, President of the Teec Nos Pos Chapter indicated via email she had passed away at 96. Bless Clara and all her true and devoted work. Hastiin dibe'
