Previous video to this... Shows problem with object fade. Apparently Mental Ray does not support "visibility" object-property in 3Ds Max. Yet.
Here is the work around using "Blend" in the Material editor.

  • that's fine for a small handful of objects... but when you start dealing with dozens or hundreds that all need to fade out, and all have different materials... good luck. The main reason I moved to 2010 Max Design.

  • Does max 2010 resolve this issue? If so, please tell me more.

  • yes it does. As long as the objects are set to "by object" and not "by layer" in the properties window.
