the wire is the best show, how come to they didn't get emmys? "greys anatomy focus on orgys more than they focus on saving lives and they got an emmy. white folks didn't want embrace urban culture like the wire but they nonimate show that benifits their lifestyle

@cease25 Don't think its racial. They enormity of themes the wire scratches the surface on, and the overtly complicated linguistic expressions of the street, turns off most viewers and makes them settle for less than intelligent t.v viewing.

i'm a gay white girl and i LURVE this show. and the way the BBC treated it was appauling!!! BBC2 at 11.30pm on an irregular schedule. they went through all 5 seasons as fast as they could like they were EMBARRASSED by it!

it's like the f**ks at the BBC couldn't believe something with a 60% african american cast could be so good. so they killed it in the schedules but can still say they are 'gritty and edgy' and all that bullsh!t!

this is the best show over the last 25 years, hands down.

yeah i'm white, best show of all time by far. However i don't know if i would have watched it while on tv. It's only broadcasted on satellite here in england, but i got bought the season one dvd and was hooked! it's all about the box sets when it comes to dramas like the wire
