"I'm saved," the logic goes, "because I asked Jesus into my heart when I was 10, and even though I'm not living for him now, I'm going to Heaven because I prayed the prayer and walked the aisle."
In the seventh chapter of Matthew (21-23), Jesus warns, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven (shall). Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? (Haven't we had grown churches in your name? Haven't we written books in your name? Haven't we worn T-shirts and had sleepovers in your name?) And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (sin, iniquity)!' ANY TEACHING that suggests that the Christian is "free from the law, oh happy condition; we may sin as we please and still have remission..." is a damnable lie and is much a perversion of God's word as the distortion breathed by the serpent in Eden's garden. ...Notice that the verse above does not say "I knew you but because of your lawlessness, I became forgetful." He says, "I NEVER KNEW YOU!" Examine yourselves to see if you're in the faith. (2Cor 13:5)
Follow peace with all men, AND HOLINESS, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD:

@Strefanasha Hebrews 6:4 speaks of those who have attempted to secure salvation by their own wills and intellects and are not saved. One can experience being enlightened by the Spirit, taste the Heavenly gift and thus partake of the Spirit - but not be saved at all. For example, if you have a devil cast out of you - all these things have happened. Happened in Jesus' ministry. But, because the house was empty though swept - the devils came back 7 times more. Physical healing, same principle.

@Strefanasha No, salvation by grace speaks of relationship and spiritual union. Our spirits are born of the Spirit in full spiritual union with God in Christ. Nothing but holiness comes out of the Spirit of God and all works of the Spirit in and through us are perfect and holy. Our spirits born of the Spirit are holy. We are holy, perfect, blameless in Christ in this relationship of state of being as a new creation. The spirit born of God never sins. Romans 7. We are holy in Christ.

Decisional salvation states that self is free will and the article of salvation - the vehicle of activity in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Heresy.

yes, altar call is usually an appeal to the flesh,
but so is every other means, esp those who would bully anyone with hell fire preaching of any kind.
BTW the carnal response to the call to holiness is ALWAYS legalist.
Once Saves Always Saved is dangerous heresy. Look at Hebrews 6:4. It is TOO clear, and shows that it speaks about christians.
you think in terms of mere doctrine rather than relationship with the Spirit. this leads to all sorts of error

@summergod27 yeah the way i understand it. Is that this is referring to leadership saying that one is saved through an alter call. Only God saves, and man has no say in this spiritual reformation. Who am i or any one else to say one is saved. We don't know but we can speculate through their life style and fruit. God bless hope this helps

Whats wrong with alter called salvation? What does that even mean? I went down to an alter and prayed when the preacher gave an alter call and i was saved and praise God I have been preaching His word. I don't get it. I just saw about 2 months ago come in the church and run to the alter and cry at the alter for about 45 minutes and gave his heart to Jesus. He has been clean every since. Praise the name of Jesus. I don't get the title.

@PastorJS1 Where do you get a doctrine of free will? Like I said, man can choose no good. We are wicked. God had to predestine or nobody would be saved. We would slam the door shut on God because we would naturally hate that which is good. He is the final authority. We serve God because He has allowed us too. We wouldn't naturally serve Him by any means. Free will is mans view, altogether it seems like humanism. I agree, Jesus saved us from sin, not in it. God washes us so we no longer abide.
