Panama

"Panama" by Van Halen, from the album "1984". I recorded this on a classical guitar some time ago, and I had some requests to record it with an electric guitar. I used the same Frankenstrat I used on "Hot for Teacher," with a new, clear pick guard and a tone knob.

@kostaVHjovanovic Thanks. It began life as a Fender Stratocaster, but I swapped out parts here and there and repainted it until I ended up with what you see. The smiley face was an ad-hoc way to deal with a blemish in the paint job after I'd gotten halfway through. It's actually integrated into the paint.

I think you should do a tutorial video on how to do those advanced techniques that this song requires such as pick harmonics, the muted squeal (kind of thing) which you do at 0:29 and the dive that you do at 0:07

I've always wanted to know how to do these things. Judas Priest do them all the time and I could never figure out how to do them :/

Thanks! The smiley face originated as a blemish in the paint job, specifically the face's right eye. I had to come up with something clever to hide it, or start over.
