I've been praching this for years and running up against folks like noreaga12326.
DDC controls, or BAS systems, would require an override - or an opt-out button- if residences were to consent to be governed by them. Being human requires flexibility, freedoms, and options.
I have the control system, devices, and even a rough contract/agreement in non-applied form. It looks like it will be within my lifetime now!

So many times I been told that we use more and more electricity because we all have more and more gadgets that use electricity.
Now this echelon system wants to stick an electric gadget in every object everywhere and have them in constant communication with each other, which will be an incredible increase in the use of electricity.
And the justification for this network is ... to save electricity.
Here's an idea to save electricity - stop building this energy draining system.

Green energy is the buzz word today. Many consumers and industries are adopting green energy methods as it creates a safer place for all. Power as you know plays a vital role in every facet of life and energy-efficient transformers are being considered for the transmission and consumption of power. Companies such as Pacific Crest Transformers specialize in the manufacture of liquid-filled distribution transformers for various industry verticals.
