Not too sure if I'm onto something good here or not! I was just messing around with an old Appalachian fiddle tune called Betsy Likens, playing it on uke instead of dadgad guitar and also playing it a lot slower than usual. It suited my contemplative mood at the time but I'm not sure whether it's a dead end or if I should persevere and develop the idea.....

  • You are onto something good, very good.

  • It reminds me and sounds like a lap dulcimer. Did you change any tuning for this?

  • It works very nicely. The ukulele is very versatile and there are a lot of claw hammer and blue grass as well as blues uke players. Don't put the uke in a box. A case, yes, a box no. :)

  • it works, and sound pretty good...

but i'm not sure if the style is quite right for the usual bouncy, fun, style of the uke.

but you're right... it IS very interesting.
